  Completed in 2008, Gippsland Lakehouse is a luxury waterfront 4 bedroom holiday rental house jutting out over the Paynesville canals of the Gippsland Lakes. Three levels of north facing decking give you immediate access to the water and stunning views across the canals, Gippsland Lakes and mountains.

The lower deck leads to a private jetty, the middle deck extends the living area complete with outdoor open fireplace, barbecue, outdoor dining and sun lounges, while the top deck ensures a private area adjacent to the main bedrooms also with an outdoor setting.

  • Paynesville is known as "the boating capital of Victoria" and is generously serviced by 8 boat ramps in the immediate area. Make the most of the waterways by indulging in fishing, sailing and all manner of water sports. If you don't have your own boat all sorts of craft can be hired from one of the many operators servicing the area or you can join a charter so that you can fish, sail, ski or even parasail! If it's the beach you're after, you can motor over to the Bunga Arm where you can tie up at one of the jetties and walk over the sand dunes to the 90 Mile Beach. If you don't like crowded beaches then this is the place for you.

    In Paynesville, you can take the ferry over to Raymond Island for scenic walks, bike riding, koala spotting and even horse drawn carriage rides. Stay for a meal at Espas on the Raymond Island waterfront There are many walking tracks around the town such as Sunset Cove on Newlands Arm and the longer ramble from The Inlet to Eagle Point, or join one of the regular cruises that explores the lakes and its canal systems. Drop in at the Lake Gallery to admire the work of local and renowned artists in a contemporary setting, or just while away the afternoon with coffee and cake on the deck at Fisherman's Wharf watching the ferry and the sailing boats across the McMillan Strait. Paynesville itself offers two supermarkets, two bakeries, a bank, pub, chemist, newsagent, hairdresser, butcher, fishmonger, video store, and numerous waterside cafes and restaurants. Paynesville and Bairnsdale each have their own food and craft markets every month.
